Rhys D. Carmenatty Jones is a distinguished percussionist, educator, and composer residing in Central Florida. He possesses extensive experience across various domains of the percussion field, encompassing classical music, marching arts, and a diverse range of styles in between.
Performance experience:
Rhys Jones possesses a considerable amount of experience in the marching arts. In 2020, he joined Infinity 2, performing on the vibraphone. Since that time, he has participated in the Infinity 2 seasons of 2020, 2021, and 2022, culminating in a gold medal victory at the WGI World Championships in 2022. Subsequently, he advanced to march with Infinity World, the premier ensemble within the Infinity organization, during the 2023 and 2024 seasons. Additionally, Rhys has performed with the Spirit of Atlanta drum corps throughout the 2023 season. Outside of his involvement in marching arts, he is also an accomplished concert percussionist, participating with community groups such as Southern Winds and the CFCArts Community Orchestra. Rhys continues to engage with UCF music ensembles while completing his degree.
Teaching experience:
Rhys, owing to his extensive experience in marching arts, presently serves as the Assistant Front Ensemble Coordinator at Infinity Percussion 2. He also possesses significant experience in instructing high school marching bands, having been engaged with the Cypress Creek High School Marching Band from 2021 to 2025, where he taught the front ensemble. He anticipates the commencement of private lessons in the near future.
Composing experience:
Rhys dedicates his spare time to composing and arranging musical works for his personal projects as well as for high school marching band programs. He has arranged pieces for the Cypress Creek High School marching band for the years 2024 and 2025. Furthermore, he possesses personal compositions that he anticipates publishing in the future. Rhys remains readily available to accommodate any arranging or commissioning needs.
